Freezer Peanut Butter Pies

A few weeks back I went looking for some pie recipes that I could make and freeze.  I stumbled upon a peanut butter one that looked heavenly.  Peanut butter is one of my all time favorite foods and PB pie is high on the list of favorite PB foods.  My regular PB pie recipe, however, does NOT freeze well.  So eager to find one that would, I tried this one.  A-MA-ZING.  Lovely.  Divine.

Freezer Peanut Butter Pies
Makes 3 pies or 24-28 individual-sized pies

2/3 cup peanut butter (I used creamy, will try crunchy next go-round)
8oz cream cheese, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup milk
16oz whipped topping
3 graham cracker or chocolate cookie pie crusts
Garnishment, optional (chopped peanuts, chocolate shavings, chopped peanut butter candies, graham cracker crumbs, etc.)

Combine the cream cheese & peanut butter until smooth; add remaining ingredients.  Divide into the three pie crusts.  Garnish, if desired.  Cover and freeze.  Thaw slightly to serve.  Store leftovers in the freezer.

The recipe said they would stay good for 2-3 months…mine lasted less than a week.   In all fairness, only two were eaten at my house (uh, I was 40 weeks pregnant and hormonal!!) and one was taken to a friend’s house.
