About Me

Hi.  I’m Tricia.  I’m mama to a seven year old daughter and two sons, 3.5 and 1.5.  SoldierBoy and I have been married for nearly twelve years.

Born and raised in Indiana, I’m truly a Hoosier at heart.  The Army can ship us wherever it wants but it’ll never take the Midwest out of me.  My entire family is still there and I get home as frequently as I can.

The Army has recently moved us to El Paso.  After three years in lush Hawai’i and eight months in Georgia surrounded by pine, pecan and peach trees…El Paso scenery has been a change!  I never realized just how much I love trees until there are none to be found!

We are about to embark on our first full year of homeschooling.  I’m on the steering committee for my MOPS group and helping to start another one.  I’m a bit of a cloth diaper addict.  I have a wonderful church.  I enjoy reading (LOVING my new Kindle), cooking, crafting and hanging with friends.

In my mind, I have great plans for homemaking.  In reality, I’m a failed perfectionist.  The type FLYLady talks about.  I get so overwhelmed with things NOT being perfect, I resort to doing much less.  I am working to overcome that tendency with varying degrees of success.  The desire is there, though.  And I recognize the problems.  Well, some of them, at least.  I’ve made major progress and that is encouraging.  I love to cook.  And I LOVE to cook for others. I am increasing the amount of items I make from scratch and am doing pretty well with it.  Processed foods, fast food and even sit-down restaurant food is becoming less and less appealing as our taste buds adjust.
